Although my around-the-world trip didn’t take 80 days, it felt that long. The tour to all the international divisions, nevertheless, was highly informative for me and well worth the effort.
I can’t forget it was your willingness to cover for me on major decisions here at home that allowed me the peace of mind to make such a jaunt. As you know, we marketing people get antsy if we miss a customer in a buying mood and such were my fears when I left the states a month ago.
I understand from my staff, however, that I should go away more often! Sales were up 26 percent for the month. Benny Howard and Lark Seitz said they managed to pull off such feats only with your support in making some unusual delivery-date commitments. I’m grateful for your going out on a limb for me to get those two accounts we’ve been courting for six months.
