Cooper Green Mercy Hospital provides both in-patient and out-patient medical services to the residents of Jefferson County, AL and is the only county hospital in Birmingham. The hospital also operates primary care clinics in Forestdale and Southtown.
As a county run facility, many of the jobs at Cooper Green Mercy Hospital are classified under the Civil Service System, however some entry-level and seasonal positions are unclassified, but still applied for through the Jefferson County Department of Human Resources. All classified jobs must be applied for through the Jefferson County Personnel Board.
