Albuquerque's Economic Development Corporation has an immediate opening for an experienced Executive Director to manage city growth plan. Current initiatives are outlined through the year 2000, and we need a strong leader who can guide us through short- and long-term changes in our global marketplace.
You will address such issues as city infrastructure, bringing new business to the Albuquerque area, improving utilities and energy resources, public housing, public transportation, historic preservation, and multi-cultural representation. You will serve as an at-large member of the city council and report to a community-elected Board of Directors comprised of local business leaders and representatives of key social service and government organizations.
Among the requirements for this position are:
* Leadership, vision, and inspiration
* Master's degree + at least 4 years related experience
* Excellent communication and management skills
* General accounting and financial analysis knowledge
* English + a second language is helpful
* Computer experience in word processing, spreadsheets, and a
graphics program
* Thorough understanding of architectural and engineering
concepts
* Ability to negotiate and persuade
