Experienced fund-raiser needed to serve as Campaign Director for The Rowe Foundation, a national not-for-profit organization committed to helping disadvantaged kids.

Requirements:
*  Two years of experience in fast-paced environment.
*  Familiar with direct mail solicitations, both creative
    and administrative requirements.
*  Excellent computer skills, including Word Perfect
    and LOTUS 1-2-3
*  Previous experience working with board members.
*  Experience in recruiting volunteers and supervising
    a volunteer network.
*  Good presentation/communication skills.
*  Willingness to travel extensively.

The Rowe Foundation seeks to turn "at risk" kids into achievers through summer camp/educational programs at 30 sites nationwide. We take children ages 7-13 who have been referred to the program by school counselors or community social workers. They participate in a 3-month "Discovery" session at a rural campsite during the summer. Then each child is paired with a mentor from his or her area for encouragement and reinforcement. We also host weekend "Renewal" seminars periodically throughout the year.

Last year, more than 5,000 children, primarily from urban areas, participated in this program. This year, we want to double that number and open 10 more sites. To achieve these ambitious goals and lay groundwork for future expansion, we need to raise $50 million. The Campaign Director will supervise a staff of five, manage direct mail solicitations, and personally present our story to major potential donors. The Director will also spend a minimum of 2 weeks at our Augusta camp to experience our program first-hand.
