Controller wanted for Products Unlimited, a leading Fortune 500 company. We serve a diverse group of industries through manufacturing, production, sales and distribution channels. We are currently seeking an experienced controller to be responsible for all financial and custodial accounting activities. Though divisions and product line groupings are operated semi-autonomously, the controller must ensure that every sector is accurately recording and reporting its results. We have recently implemented uniform policies and procedures and invested in financial information systems infrastructure to streamline the reporting/analysis process. The controller will supervise a staff of two administrative assistants, and work closely with our tax accountants, auditor and other financial specialists.
Requirements:
* BS in Accounting.
* 5 years of experience, including running a general ledger
in an integrated systems environment.
* Thorough understanding of GAAP.
* Knowledge of methodology to coordinate and standardize
all functions according to Corporate policies
and procedures.
* Manufacturing systems experience desirable.
TRAVEL REQUIRED. The controller must periodically visit our 12 plants and facilities nationwide, so candidates must be willing to travel 30-40% of time. (Travel is business class. No weekend travel required, though 4 times a year controller may take a guest for an extended weekend at company expense. Controller also gets to keep all Frequent Flyer points and perks.)
We offer a salary of $90,000 to start. If you investigate, you'll find that because housing in the area is exceptionally affordable and the cost-of-living is low compared to most other major metropolitan areas, the salary is more than competitive. We also offer outstanding benefits, including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, and profit sharing. (Last year, profit sharing equaled an average of 10% of salaries.)
