Suspended Osceola Property Appraiser Gets Unemployment PayBy Mark Pino, Staff Writer

KISSIMMEE -- Bob Day applied for unemployment pay four days after he was suspended as Osceola County Property Appraiser.
State officials cited confidentiality rules Wednesday and would not comment on how Day was approved for benefits, even though state law says elected officials are not eligible for compensation.
Day's successor, Atlee Mercer is appealing the claim but a hearing has not been set, said Warren May a spokesman for the state Agency for Work Force Innovation.
