WorkOne: End Of Unemployment ChecksWFIE - 14 News

The unemployment office is going to be busy and some big changes are in the works.
In about two weeks, unemployment claims in Evansville will have to be filed electronically.
Workers will be able to use any computer with an Internet connection, including those at the WorkOne office.
The statewide move is supposed to make the process easier - but WorkOne expects problems.
Director Tom Horstman says, "We're concerned and working on solutions for rural counties, where Internet capabilities are decreased, and they have to find access to it somewhere because not everybody has computers."
Another change, unemployment checks will be phased-out, with workers receiving benefits through a debit card.
