TULLAHOMA, TN — Up to 220 employees could be laid off this fall at the Arnold Engineering Development Center because of a federal budget cut.

According to the Shelbyville Times-Gazette, the center now has 2,742 employees.

Aerospace Testing Alliance (ATA), AEDC's primary contractor, said in a letter to employees Thursday that it will follow "a consistent and equitable method" for reducing and realigning its work force.

AEDC is a collection of ground-based aerospace test facilities including wind tunnels and rocket engine test cells.
