HICKORY - A sock company plans to lay off 186 workers at two plants by March 16 as it restructures its operations from manufacturing to distributing.
International Legwear Group still will have 400 employees and at its Hildebran and Hickory plants.
International Legwear was formed in 2003 by the combination of Neuville Industries and Ellis Hosiery Mills. It makes socks and legwear under the Peds brand, which it owns, as well as under licensing agreements for Reebok, Keds, Dickies Starter and Wrangler.
