Another shake up is underway at Cirrus in Duluth. About 85 people will lose their jobs in the on-going company restructuring.

Marketing Vice President Todd Simmons told the Northland's NewsCenter about 81 of the jobs will be lost from the Duluth plant. Another 4 to 5 jobs lost at the Grand Forks plant.

Simmons said all 85 positions are non production jobs. He said its part of the company's ongoing restructuring and consolidation.

This move comes on the heels of news that Cirrus founder Alan Klapmeier is no longer with the company. According to AINonline.com, the Cirrus board of directors decided not to renew Klapmeier’s contract.

The company spokesperson said the 85 job cuts are part of "operations stream lining" and will not interfere with production of aircraft. Simmons said the management consolidation is related to the economy and demand but will result in a more productive operation for the future.
