SUMMERVILLE -- A petroleum-based textile firm was sold and about 185 workers will be laid off at the end of this month, company officials said.
Linq Industrial Fabrics Inc., based in Summerville for 35 years, said the decision to sell was unavoidable. The company slashed 110 jobs about five years ago.
The unidentified buyer plans to continue operating parts of the business and retain 120 permanent and temporary jobs, company officials said.
