LOS ALAMOS, N.M. - The National Nuclear Security Administration has released details of how Los Alamos National Laboratory might deal with layoffs caused by less money from Congress.
The plan says that if workers are laid off, they can expect help finding other jobs at the lab and being retrained.
The plan also would help employees find jobs outside the lab and it calls for medical benefits.
But the National Nuclear Security Administration says parts of the plan could change with budgetary constraints.
A resolution Congress passed to keep spending at current levels expires November 16th.
The plan is aimed at minimizing layoffs, reducing problems for people who lose their jobs and minimizing the effects of layoffs on nearby communities.
