Groton - Executives say there is another round of layoffs at the Electric Boat shipyard in Groton.
Another 170 workers have received layoff notices this week, bringing to nearly 800 the total number of workers to be let go this year.
The latest round of jobs cuts affects shipyard workers, 154 hourly employees and 16 salaried workers. They have been told that their last day will be October 27th.
About 170 submarine designers were laid off in March. In July, 440 shipyard workers learned they would lose their jobs effective September 8.
