Syracuse NY - Deluxe Corp. told its Syracuse employees today that it is closing its downtown call center, and laying off 260 employees. The call center will close sometime during the first quarter of 2007, according to company officials at its home office in St. Paul, MN.
Deluxe is offering some of its employees jobs elsewhere inside the company. The company is also giving some employees outplacement assistance and severance pay.
The call center has been located in downtown Syracuse since 1995. It is housed in the former Sibley’s department store on South Salina Street.
