Hundreds of people employed at Whirlpool's refrigeration plant in Amana will soon be out of a job. Whirlpool just announced 250 hourly workers will be layed off at the Amana plant.
These job cuts are in addition to the 150 layoffs announced in September. Company officials say the reductions are the result of current marketplace conditions and product demand.
They say they do hope to recall the employees at a later date, but there is no time frame as to when that might happen. The layoffs are scheduled to take effect on November 28th.
