Harley-Davidson Inc. plans to close its Capitol Drive factory in Wauwatosa and its Franklin distribution center by Sept. 25.
The company also plans to lay off employees at its product development center in Wauwatosa on the same date.
The Milwaukee-based motorcycle manufacturer announced plans for the mass layoffs at the three facilities earlier this year. A notice filed with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development on Sept. 8 didn’t indicate how many employees would be laid off, but the company stated earlier this year, that 645 employees would lose their jobs as a result of the closure of the Wauwatosa factory and the Franklin warehouse.
The company announced in July that about 35 jobs at the product development center would be cut.
