ELSIE, MI. - It's the end of the line for a Lear Corporation auto-parts plant in Clinton County.

The final layoffs came Friday at the plant in Elsie, which made power seat adjusters for the auto industry. It meant good-bye for the more than 200 workers who remained.

Nearly 900 people once worked at the plant, but jobs had steadily left the state over the years.

A handful of workers are expected to remain to get the plant ready for closure.

Village officials in Elsie estimate a loss of 42 (m) million dollars in revenue, and several businesses have closed in the downtown area.
