Porterville-based Ennis Homes announced on Thursday the immediate layoffs of 25 percent of its workforce — the latest evidence of the dramatic downturn in new home sales in Tulare County.
“This decision was extremely difficult and a first in our 28-year history,” Ennis Homes President and CEO Brian Ennis said in a prepared statement released Thursday afternoon.
