Icelandic USA began laying off their workforce Friday. 267 "Icelandic Seafood" employees lost their jobs as the Cambridge plant prepares to shut down.

They will keep 155 workers until it's scheduled closing at the end of the year.

To help ease the transition for the former employees, the "Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board" is spending $400,000 on job search and training classes for displaced workers.
