There have been more than 900 newsroom job cuts in the US since April, as circulation and ad revenues continue to decline.

Even newspapers that have traditionally safeguarded newsroom jobs are resorting to cuts: Illinois’ Daily Herald is cutting staff for the first time in its history, despite a slight increase in circulation.

The Daily Herald, Chicago Tribune, San Jose Mercury News and Denver Post are only a few of the papers to have recently cut newsroom jobs in an effort to save money.
