Kana Software Inc. reported preliminary sales figures for the second quarter and said it plans to cut some jobs to save up to $6 million a year.
The Menlo Park company said Friday its sales for the second quarter will be between $13.3 million and $13.5 million.
About $3.6 million to $3.8 million of that will be counted as license revenue. Profit or loss figures weren't given.
Michael Fields, the company's CEO, said in a press release that he was "disappointed" in the quarterly revenue figure, and said the company will lay off some workers and contractors to save money. No specific numbers of layoffs were given.
The company hopes to save $6 million a year through the cuts.
