Recently read: "Consumers just don't have the financial firepower to go out and spend more."
Do you think?
Same article said 7.6 million jobs have been lost since 2007. Guess what --we've been losing jobs a lot longer than that. Go to any department store, pick up any article of clothing and see where it was made. China, Bangladesh, Spain, Vietnam, Indonesia etc. Now the grocery store -- catfish from Vietnam for crying out loud! I could have sworn we have catfish in America! Furniture, auto parts, sports equipment, electronics, even American flags, you name it and it's made somewhere other than America. And we all know about the oil. What little the average person can buy and has a service issue (and who doesn't) the customer service center discussion is with someone in India.
Billions of tax dollars have gone to bail out companies that had poor management and questionable business practices. All of which continued to cut jobs even after the bailout! Jobs gone in the name of "saving money." I would venture to say "greed" would be a better word and greed created the loss of jobs and greed created the downfall of all those that received the bailouts!
It's not all Obama's fault but he's the guy that promised (millions?) of new jobs not lost jobs. So, where are they? Based on what appears to be practically everything we can buy comes from a foreign country exactly when will the new jobs be created and more importantly -- where will they be created?
Just a thought -- how about all the "old" jobs be brought back to America.
