Stadium management and contract companies plan to hire more than 1,000 part-timers in preparation for football. The first preseason game kicks off Aug. 18 when the Arizona Cardinals take on the Houston Texans.
Scott Norton, a spokesman for Global Spectrum, which manages the stadium, said there is no guarantee an employee would work the big events like Super Bowl XLII or the Fiesta Bowl - but there is a chance.
Salaries range $8 to $12 an hour.
The job fair at the stadium runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Global Spectrum will ratchet up from a skeleton crew of about 75 off-season part-timers to more than 500 part-time employees.
Centerplate, which handles stadium concessions, and S.A.F.E. Management, which provides more than 800 security personnel on game days, will join Global Spectrum at the job fair.
Officials are marketing the jobs as a chance for employees to get an up-close look at mega-events from the Fiesta Bowl to Super Bowl XLII.
"The employees we have like the fast pace and love the excitement that's going on around them," said Jody Coleman, Centerplate's human resources manager.
Open positions range from security and ushers to housekeeping, with wages ranging from $8 to $12 an hour.
Most of Global Spectrum's open positions are in housekeeping, which the company had contracted out last season but now are bringing in-house.
The company also is hiring people to change over the stadium between events.
Both Global Spectrum and Centerplate can extend offers for most positions on the day of the job fair. S.A.F.E. will take applications but must run background checks before hiring security personnel.
Applicants should bring identification and items necessary to complete an application.
