Regions Cuts 234 Jobs At Memphis Operations CenterMemphis Business Journal

Regions Financial Corp. has laid off 234 employees at its operations center on Goodlett Farms Parkway in Cordova.
The layoffs were a result of the Birmingham, Ala.-based bank's merger with AmSouth Bancorp. that was first announced in early 2007 and wrapped up in late April, said Regions spokesman Tim Deighton.
The job cuts began in April 2007 and concluded in April 2008, according to a report the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development issued this week.
Regions employs about 1,800 in West Tennessee.
