FORT WAYNE, IN -- A Fort Wayne piston maker plans to cut up to 150 jobs after learning that the Ford Motor Company won't renew a contract with the company.

Karl Schmidt Unisia Incorporated officials don't know when the workers will be cut. The contract ends June 30th, but the plant will continue to make pistons for Ford until the car company brings a new supplier up to speed.

About 100 hourly and salaried employees will remain at the plant.

The company has made pistons for Ford for about 17 years.

Karl Schmidt Unisia also has a contract with General Motors.
