At Least 500 Jobs To Come With New Topeka Call CenterAssociated Press
May 5, 2007
TOPEKA, KS. - A call center that a California firm wants to bring to Topeka will create at least 500 jobs, maybe more.
That's according to officials with the company, Alorica Inc. of Chino, California.
Assistant accounting manager Erin Shortner said the company is -- quote -- "looking to really grow."
The call center in Topeka will be in the former TeleTech Holdings call center. That center closed in the spring of 2004, eliminating 790 jobs.
Alorica is a customer service management firm with more than five-thousand employees and ten sites, including ones in Manhattan, Kansas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A year ago, the company announced it was creating 600 jobs at its Manhattan call center to serve Cingular Wireless.
