MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee-based motorcycle maker Harley Davidson plans to cut about 300 workers from its plant in York, Penn.

It also plans to temporarily lay off an unspecified number of employees at the same plant beginning next week.

The Pennsylvania plant already planned to shut down the last week of June while it switches to making motorcycles for 2010.

Harley has been struggling to sell motorcycles in North America.
