Nearly 76,000 jobs will be created in Tennessee in the next two years, according to projections by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

The department's research on short-term employment gains shows a 1.2 percent average annual increase with the increases coming across a broad spectrum of industries.

"According to our research, there are job gains in the administrative, managerial and transportation industries," Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development James Neeley said in a release. "The vibrant food, entertainment and health care industries provide personal services for our growing and aging population. These short-term job data show the effect of the contemporary business cycle on long term trends."

Other areas or industries where jobs are expected to be plentiful include computers and mathematical, building and grounds cleaning, social services, health care support occupations and business and financial operations.

Manufacturing is expected to have net job losses for the next two years but long-term growth through 2014, the report said.
