US Airways Group Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. have close to 300 jobs available in Tempe - some welcome new to the Valley's dour job market.
US Airways has 140 open positions at its Tempe headquarters. Some are in the technology arena, but there also are jobs available for accountants, financial planners and mechanics.
Chase Bank will hold a job fair in downtown Phoenix on Sept. 9. The bank is hiring 125 to 150 full-time workers for its Tempe operations center, said spokeswoman Mary Jane Rogers.
Chase is looking for underwriters, closers, processors and some managers in Tempe. The job fair will start at 11 a.m. at the Chase Tower in Phoenix.
US Airways as recently named among the best companies to work for Hispanic women, according to Latina Style. The magazine cited the airline's recruitment and hiring of women and number of Latina managers and executives.
Marriott International, Bank of America, Wells Fargo Bank, Macy's, Walmart and USAA also made the list.
