Demand for information technology and financial professionals is expected to remain strong in Houston in the second quarter.
A new survey released by Robert Half International reports 12 percent of chief information officers in Houston expect to hire IT professionals in the second quarter, while 6 percent of chief financial officers intend to add accounting and finance staff.
Houston's booming oil and gas industry accounts in large measure for continued hiring strength in both professions.
"The energy sector is a consistent major user of IT in Houston, and we see continuing demand for top IT professionals. We don't see any slowdown," says Robin Webster, branch manager of Robert Half Technology in Houston.
