I'm a local teenager and I have a bone to pick with the American government. When did it become okay to let people hold a job because of a race, gender, color, or any other aspect of their life?
If you don't know what I am talking about, it's Affirmative Action. It's wrong to give a person a job because they're African American, white, Asian or a Spanish person. The law was passed because they wanted people to have equal rights but there are no equal rights any more because the other people that went out for the job got shafted because they didn't have the right race or skin tone.
Company owners can't give a job to anyone they don't know because they are scared they are going to get racial suits filed. This is putting good people out of jobs. What happened to if you wanted a job you worked for it -- is that gone?
American workers shouldn't be judged on their race or color but how qualified they are to fill the position. I'm not trying to sound like a racist or anything like that because I'm not, but people should get the jobs they want if they can pass the right tests to fill the position. If you are African American, Asian, Spanish or a woman and are the most qualified you deserve the job, but it's not right for you to get a job because of a race or color, is it? I don't believe so. Rich government people don't care about the common worker anymore.
This shouldn't be going on in America. Someone should stand up for what is right in this country. Everyone deserves to get the same job but no one should get a job for color, race or gender.
