People qualified to be pharmacists, pharmacy managers, customer service and call representatives or support staff have a new job opportunity coming up. Aetna Rx Home Delivery may create as many as 800 jobs in South Florida, starting later this year.
WorkForce One - a local, federally funded employment firm that works with the Broward Alliance - said it will help Aetna Rx Home Delivery find workers for the prescription mail-order facility Aetna Rx Home Delivery is to open in Pompano Beach later this year.
Beginning the week of July 4, WorkForce One said it will use its Sample Road facility in Pompano Beach to help identify and pre-screen potential candidates for the pharmacy management jobs.
Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna Rx Home Delivery said it is seeking pharmacists, customer service and call representatives, and support staff to fill and ship prescriptions from its 112,000-square-foot regional headquarters in the Pompano Business Center.
"Our focus is on better jobs and better wages and we're excited to assist a company like Aetna, who has a long-term future in Florida and can help diversify our regional economy," said WorkForce One President/Chief Executive Officer Mason Jackson. "They are creating new opportunities for job seekers and we can help put the company together with qualified individuals."
Workforce development assistance is available at no charge to expanding companies creating jobs in Broward that pay at least $10 an hour.
Once Aetna Rx Home Delivery employees are in place, the company is to begin shipping prescription medications from Pompano Beach. Capacity is to be more than 20 million orders a year.
