NEW YORK - GameStop Corp. /quotes/comstock/13*!gme/quotes/nls/gme (GME 24.40, -0.20, -0.81%) said Tuesday that it plans to hire about 15,000 seasonal part-time workers between now and Dec. 24 at its 4,300 U.S. stores. The Grapevine, Texas-based video-game retailer said the hirings will increase the company's total headcount by about 46%. GameStop said these numbers are consistent with seasonal hiring in 2008 and 2007.
