Fifth Third Bank said Wednesday it has more than 70 openings in Southeast Michigan as it sees customer growth returning. While the jobs are interspersed throughout the region, hiring needs are most acute in Wayne, Macomb and Shiawassee counties, the bank said.
The bank needs management and front line workers to fill 31 replacement positions, the bank said in a release. An additional 40 jobs are newly requisitioned to keep up with demand.
The bank is hiring for a wide range of positions, including financial center managers, small-business development officers, wealth management advisors, mortgage loan originators, and bank tellers. Jobs are full- and part-time.

“Our recruiters are using standard methods such as job sites, and they are setting up targeted events such as invitation-only job fairs and current employee referral incentives to reach the right candidates for our jobs,” Rhonda Saunders, Fifth Third's senior vice president and head of retail banking, said in the statement. “We will model our current employees who are doing a fantastic job of servicing our customers and growing the business.”
Fifth Third has branches in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Shiawassee, Livingston, Genesee and Washtenaw counties. Its Eastern Michigan division claims $6.37 billion in assets and $4.6 billion in deposits.
