Does everyone know who Groupon is? If not, you need to know. In a nutshell, it's a takes coupons to a group buying level. Here's how it works. Each day Groupon features a different advertiser/product/service. Let's use a car wash coupon for example. Let's say Gold Coast Car Wash is offering a $50 car wash for the low price of $20 today. A minimum amount of people must sign up to purchase that coupon on that specific day. If that quota is met, then anyone who purchased it, gets charged and gets that service. If not enough people signed on for the coupon, than you aren't charged. It's basically a collective buying group. Pretty cool. Even cooler is the fact that this exciting new startup technology/advertising company is based right here in River North Chicago. And guess what else, they're hiring. Groupon

Location

Customer Service Representative (nights & weekends)
Are you a multi-tasker who enjoys helping people? Then become a Groupon Customer Service Representative! Groupon is hiring a personable, resourceful, and efficient problem-solver to join our team. This will consist of phone and email communication with our subscribers and customers, playing a vital role in representing the company. The initial schedule will be Monday, Thursday, and Friday from Noon-8pm, and 9-5 on-call responsibility on Saturday & Sunday. Bilingual-Spanish is a significant plus, though not required. For our customers and subscribers, you will be the voice of Groupon, so you must be friendly, patient, flexible, articulate, and capable of above-average celebrity impersonations.
Inside Sales
As an Inside Sales Executive, you will use a mix of creativity, hard work, sales prowess, and reverse psychology to build partnerships with local businesses in your city. Each day, you’ll call (and occasionally visit) restaurants, theaters, spas, dentists, and everything in between, negotiating unbeatable deals on behalf of Groupon’s customers.
Responsibilities include:
* Cold calling businesses to negotiate deeply discounted prices.
* Brainstorm new creative businesses and activities to be featured.
* Follow-up on warm inbound leads and land contracts.
* Maintaining a lukewarm body temperature.
You should have experience working in a sales capacity, preferably inside sales.
