Too much experience can be hurting IT pros in the job market, according to online career resource Beyond.com.

It listed IT, along with health/medical and sales, as the top three industries advertising jobs online in the first quarter. IT positions made up 11.32 percent off online jobs posted. At the same time, there was a 54.5 percent increase in the number of IT pros looking for jobs, according to Network World.

But here's the rub: Most of those job seekers had five to 10 years of experience, while the majority of hiring businesses were looking for workers with three to five years of experience. But at least they wanted more experience than less than one year, which was the norm in health care or sales.

Meanwhile, recruiting firm ExecuNet says the market for executive jobs is loosening up a bit, reports ITWorld.
