Minnesota lost another 2,300 jobs in September.While the state's unemployment level is down from last month, the economy is still ailing.So with the holiday season just around the corner, will job seekers looking for ''seasonal'' employment find a place to work?News 12's Betsy Gessell has more.Gloria Zachow says, '' There are more people looking for jobs than there are job openings.''It's Gloria Zachow's job to find employment for those who want it, but right now it's a little tough.Gloria Zachow says, '' We are looking for talented people all the time, it's just that we can't put all of the talented people to work.''According to the Department of Employment and Economic Development the number of Minnesotans employed in September was over 18,000 below the same time last year, but Manpower says it's only certain industries that aren't hiring.Gloria Zachow says, ''The people that were having trouble would be people that do general labor or just the seasonal, we don't have a lot of seasonal right now.One area that does have seasonal opportunities is the retail industry.Places like Gordman's and Target in Mankato are looking for extra staff for the holidays.Cole Jansen says, '' We'll obviously it's going to be a lot busier here at target so in order to provide the best possible service for our guests we need to have a lot more team members on hand.'Target says they're looking to hire up to 40 new employees for the holiday season with the possibility of having them continue on throughout the rest of the year.Cole Jansen says, 'If we find some great team members they'll carry on with us thru the next year.''Contributing to lowering Minnesota's unemployment rate for the 2nd month in a row.
