NEW YORK – Analysts at Goodbody Stockbrokers say that while strong employment and pay rise numbers indicate that the US economy is resilient, there are concerns surrounding inflation and interest rate rises.

In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that US non-farm employment grew by 97,000 in February, and the data for the previous two months was revised upwards by 55,000. There was also a 4.1% rise in the average hourly wage last month, and the unemployment rate declined to 4.5%, the analysts say. These factors could lead to inflationary pressures, and result in higher interest rates going ahead, Goodbody Stockbrokers adds.
