PARADISE TOWNSHIP, PA -- Mount Airy Resort & Casino announced today that it has opened an Employment Center and is accepting job applications to fill up to 1,000 permanent jobs at the resort, which will open in Fall 2007. The new Mount Airy Employment Center is located at 119 Mulberry Street in Scranton, PA and is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Job seekers can also apply in person at the PA CareerLink in Monroe County located at the Route 611 Merchants Plaza in Tannersville, PA or the PA CareerLink in Lackawanna County located at 135 Franklin Avenue in Scranton, PA. Both CareerLink offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
"We have already received an overwhelming response from area residents interested in working at the new Mount Airy Resort & Casino," said Dr. Lisa DeNaples, daughter of owner Louis DeNaples, who noted that the company has already received more than 800 resumes. "We are committed to working with local residents and local businesses to ensure that Northeast Pennsylvania benefits from the economic engine that gaming represents. We are making a concerted effort to hire local contractors and local vendors and we look forward to hiring local residents to fill positions at our hotel and casino."
