WORKERS AT Harley-Davidson's Wisconsin plant begrudingly voted to accept a new controversial seven year contract in the hope the company will keep some of its production in the state.
Yesterday, Visordown reported news of the upcoming vote on the new contract, which will see a reduction in full-time staff and an increase in part-time, short contract employment for a new wave of employees.
Harley had threatened to shut down the company's entire production within the state if the contract was not ratified; many accepted its harsh terms only to help keep jobs within the state.
Senior officials at the company are now set to announce in full new plans for the production plant.
