If you are one of the many who are seeking employment, you know how difficult it can be to find a replacement for that job you once had. Perhaps your company closed up and moved south, or simply closed up. No matter what the reason, unemployment rates are climbing and jobs are scarce.

The fact is, you may not find another job like the last one you had. But what many people don’t realize is that now may be a great opportunity for you to try a new career… the one you have frequently wished you had started years ago!

We often don’t chase those dreams because we are afraid to try, or we’re afraid we might not be successful. We are afraid the dream won’t come true. But I read an article today about a woman who started doing some freelance marketing work when her husband was laid off. She took inventory of her skills, developed a plan to address her weaknesses, and soon her freelance work took off. Before long this freelance business turned into a fulltime job, as the head of her own marketing company. If she could do it, why not you?

So what would you do if you could go back to your dreams? What did you want to be “when you grow up”? What special skills do you have that perhaps you could offer?
