Many readers used the story on Michigan's unemployment rate falling to 6.5% in March to talk about the state's economy.

"Phony numbers that don't reflect all the people that have left the state, ran out of unemployment benefits and underemployed."

"'Phony numbers' that are routinely trotted out to support negative opinions of the State when they go up and dismissed when they go down."

"How about the ones that were forced to take much lower paying jobs or having to work 2 part-time jobs to make up for the one job that they were forced out of -- are they now deemed employed?"
