Some things not to do if you're a young person looking for a holiday job, from Gannett News Service:

Ask what it pays when you apply. That's unprofessional, and gives the employer the impression that you may be less than enthusiastic about the job itself.

Apply en masse. When you're inquiring about an application or applying for a job, leave your friends at home.

Be impatient. Remember, if you gave a good interview, left a good impression, and followed up with a note of thanks, it's in the employer's hands now.
