The presses keep rolling at the Quebecor World plant in Franklin.
The company announced Tuesday an expansion of equipment in the rotogravure printing and bindery operations that will “serve Franklin’s growing base of high quality catalog and retain insert customers.” It also creates 50 new jobs.
“When customers tour our operation, they comment about the obvious pride our employees take in producing their work,” said Casey Kuzmicki, vice president and general manager of Quebecor World Franklin. “It’s this level of commitment that allows our growth in Franklin.”
Quebecor, which opened as Brown Printing in Franklin in 1979, has undergone numerous expansions and will employ 550 once the latest addition is completed.
Mayor Jim Brown praised the efforts of the state Economic Development Cabinet and the Franklin-Simpson Industrial Authority for putting together an incentive package for the expansion.
Added Industrial Authority Chairman John Raines, “This expansion confirms our commitment to serve our industry partners. We are pleased Quebecor World continues to invest in Franklin.”
Quebecor World is the largest commercial printer in the world with about 39,000 employees working at 160 printing and support facilities in 17 countries. It is a market leader in the production of magazines, newspaper inserts and circulars, books, catalogs, and directories.
