Louisville Web design and software development firm Mission Data plans to open an office in Washington, D.C., and double its employment to 30 during the next 18 months.
The company has brought on two new partners to help it expand.
Stuart Gavurin and Ann Lui, who both previously worked at information technology consulting company Unisys, have joined Mission Data as CEO and COO, respectively.
Tim McWilliams will retain leadership of the Louisville headquarters as managing partner, while Gavurin works to expand the company's footprint across the country and Lui focuses on developing operational infrastructure to support the company's growth.
"We're pretty well known in the local community, but not so well known in the national community," McWilliams said.
Gavurin will be based at the new D.C. office, and McWilliams and Lui will be based in Louisville.
Gavurin said Mission Data will start to recruit employees for the new office in the second half of 2008. He said about 70 percent of the company's employment growth will take place in Louisville, with the rest occurring in D.C.
Mission Data also is looking to expand its services, Gavurin said. It will grow "not just by adding more and more clients, but by bringing more services to clients that they will grow into as their businesses expand."
The company plans to expand its application managed services and delve deeper into technologies such as mobile applications, which interface with cell phones and other mobile devices.
