“Workers with Disabilities: Talent for a Winning Team!” is the 2007 National Disability Employment Awareness Month theme.

Quoted in a news release from the U. S. Department of Labor, Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao said, “The 2007 Talent for a Winning Team theme captures the heart of the president’s New Freedom Initiative, which is that Americans with disabilities are an underutilized reservoir of ambition, talent and skill ready to make great contributions in the workplace.”

The 140 people with disabilities who work in Careers Industries’ Fulfillment Services Department are proving daily that people with disabilities can and do make great contributions in the workplace.

In Fulfillment Services, participants do real work for real pay through a variety of subcontract light assembly, kitting, collating, and packaging jobs for area businesses.

Careers Industries has facilities at 3502 Douglas Ave. in Racine and 161 Industrial Drive in Burlington.
