Instead of being fearful or intimidated by the current job market, a lot of people are creating home-based businesses. It's better than worrying or stressing over what someone else may decide about our financial future. The challenges and sacrifices of starting a home-based business are worth it. At least you're in control of your financial destiny.
I went to Twitter.com, the hot new social media Web site, to see what people were doing to survive during this challenging time. Only women responded. I learned that several are self-employed because of the current job market. Most have made money using Twitter as a free marketing tool.
Their home-based businesses were launched because a day job was no where to be found or it didn't pay enough. Rather than get depressed, they got creative and made a way out of no way. A lot of people (including me) use social media web sites like Twitter.com to get the word out about products & services. It's working. I sold product the first two weeks on Twitter! I hope you're encouraged in your job search. If you can't find a job, create one. Check out their Web sites to see how they're surviving and thriving in spite of the economy!
